My father, Colonel John O'Grady, has been missing in Vietnam since 1967. He left behind a wife and seven grieving children. Patty O'Grady, my sister, is featured in this news video during one of her many trips to Vietnam. JPAC and the United States Government was upset with her actions & suspended all excavation of the site where my father is believed to be buried. This occured almost a year ago and they have no plans to re start the process. The U.S. government and JPAC stated they suspended operations to retrieve my father's remians because Patty refused to leave, and was uncooperative. My father may never be returned to American soil because of her selfish motives. She is writing a book about her search for our father and needed a final chapter, she even tried to sell T-Shirts with a picture of my dad on her website for personal financial gain and constantly seeks out money from Veteran's groups such as, The Rolling Thunders. My dad would have been appalled since he was a proud man. She attempts to keep all her siblings from access to information about our dad. Patty continues to perpetuate falsehoods, ie. claiming she is an only child and the only one affected or concerned about Colonel O'Grady. If anyone else writes about my father or pays tribute to him, they can expect the full vengence of my sister. I know because she is attacking me for daring to develop a website that honored and paid tribute to my dad and all POW/MIA Families. She has filed a court injunction and filed to copyright my Father's name. She had my website johnogradypow.com shut down. She is now harassing, bullying, intimidating and threatening me through attack emails to my family members, my lawyers and my friends. She believes she is the only one with the right to speak or write about Colonel John O'Grady. The official next of kin that is designated by the government to make all decisions regarding my father is our mother, not my sister Patty. Patty has also sued to take that title away from our mother and 83 year old woman. Now she is threatening to have my FB page removed, claims it is just crappy clip art and trashy writing and I insult my father with this page. She contacted you tube and removed videos that were made to pay tribute and honor all veterans, Her actions continue to defile and disgrace my heroic father

I am Patty's husband Major John W. Parsels and I am a former Vietnam POW. See her sight at johnogradypowmia.com . Patty has spent the last 30 years researching her fathers case. Tara copied Patty's words, layout, colors, and titles from Patty’s site and refused to write her own words on her Go daddy site. Godaddy compared the sites and took Taras down. These media sites do not just take a site down for no reason. PATTY WITNESSED THE VIETNAMESE RECOVERING THE REMAINS OF HER FATHER IN MAY 2012 AND OUR GOVERNMENT IS COMPLACENT IN NOT RETURNING THEM.
Please help Bring Colonel John F. O'Grady Home! Col OGrady was shot down over Vietnam in 1967 and went missing, leaving behind a wife and seven children. Colonel John F. O'Grady USAF POW/MIA A pilot, an engineer, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy & the father of 7 .O'Grady earned the Silver Star, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, two Bronze Star Medals, and a Purple Heart I am the youngest daughter of the seven children and after over 30 years of not knowing the fate of my dad, and wondering if he was alive or dead or if he suffered; I finally received some answers on Memorial Day 2012.
The government interviewed two Vietnamese soldiers that recalled my fathers last day upon this earth. He had survived the plane crash with just a broken leg and and a small scalp wound and was captured after landing in a tree, he was entangled in his parachute rendering him helpless .The soldiers did not have a vehicle to transport him to a hospital so they carried him on a liter. Hours later after requesting water ,(which the soldiers did not have) he died before they reached the hospital. The soldier recalled O'Grady clinging to a photo of his wife and family and specifically remembered picture of at least two young daughters, and he vividly remembered O'Grady's great reluctance to give up the photo, After O'Grady died the soldiers used A Star Fruit Tree as a reference point for burial so someday his body could be returned to the family and claimed they buried him with his dog tags.
JPAC started excavating the site, but they stated they were forced to suspend the operation due to interference by someone. The family deserves closure and desperately seek it. It has been over a year and still JPAC has not resumed the excavation It is Time to bring this Hero Home...
I was 6 years old when my father was shot down & the last letter he wrote, was to me;
here is a quote from that letter;
""Daddy is flying a lot and the more he flies the sooner he will be home for good and that's what he wants more than anything else in the world, so he can give out great big hugs and kisses to everyone, but especially to little girls in the first grade. who won't be in the first grade much longer."
Help Me fulfill his last wish & Bring him Home.
Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command is a group of dedicated volunteers that work tirelessly to account for all our missing soldiers. It is understandable that they were forced to suspend excavating O'Grady's burial site. It has been over a year since JPAC suspended operations, we have information as to where he was buried we cannot in good conscience let him lie in an unmarked grave 8,000 miles away. Now it is time to begin the excavation process again. Send your email to
