DOD Directive NUMBER 6000.17E, January 2, 2013

SUBJECT: Executive Agent (EA) for the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (DCoE)

1. PURPOSE. This directive:

a. Designates the Secretary of the Army as the DoD EA for the DCoE in accordance with DoD Directive 5101.1 (Reference (a)).

b. Establishes policy and assigns responsibilities to integrate and optimize psychological health (PH) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) to improve health outcomes.

c. Transfers control and organizational support for the DCoE from the Director, TRICARE Management Activity, to the Secretary of the Army. This transfer includes the three component centers, Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2), and Deployment Health Clinical Center (DHCC), under the DCoE headquarters.
