Native women: one good talk with Grandma could change everything.

The vital role of Native American women
old_new.jpg
Hello,
American Indian women have long played a vital role in their tribal communities. In days past, they were more than just mothers of the tribes’ children. They were builders, warriors, farmers, and craftswomen. Their strength, nurturing, and wisdom were essential to the survival of the tribes.
Join us as we celebrate Women's History Month and give honor to Native American women. We'll learn about women in history and the influential work American Indian women are doing today to advocate for Native Americans and the struggles that exist on the reservations. We'll talk about the role grandmothers have through mentorship. As one American Indian grandson, Kyal Middletent, from the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, says about his grandmother: "She's the toughest person I know! One good talk with Grandma could change everything and make you motivated again."
We invite you to join us on this journey as we share inspiring stories of empowering women...women who have made an impact and inspire us to do the same.
